Happy Birthday Ireland Elizabeth!

In a perfect world, this would be a blog that I update weekly, if not daily with all the funny things that my kids do, say and invent….Guess what?  Things are far from perfect!  I am doing good to get a shower most days!
HairPileI walked into bible study this morning with my hair in a pile on top of my head, and a bandanna tied around it so the mess looked intentional– this was the result of over-sleeping for the third day in a row. Kevin is in Arizona for work and apparently I rely on the sound of his shower and subsequent clomping to roust me out of bed in the morning. Needless to say, I’ve been a little less than stellar in my appearance this week!  Oh well, I did manage mascara and tinted moisturizer this morning–I think I may have even looked dewy!

Here’s the recap…..From December until April.

  • Potter, Carver and Cooper each turned another year older: 2, 4 and 12; and we celebrated two-years of Carver being an official Hanson! Man do we love that kid.
  • Kevin and I celebrated 12-years of wedded bliss–who am I kidding, marriage is freakin’ hard, but we do it so well! I love you babe. 🙂
  • We celebrated Ireland’s 5th birthday with cupcakes from my amazing friend Antonia who owns Velvet Cravings.
  • The boys swam their brains out and Mercer made the swim team and both Cooper and Mac qualified for the Northwest Regional Championship Meet in Boise, Idaho.
  • I had a bit of a health scare, my OB found a mass that she was concerned was cancer so we decided to do a total hysterectomy at the beginning of January. The surgery went well and the mass came back benign but my uterus came back shriveled up and sad.  So it was a good thing that we took it out! I didn’t recover as quickly as we had hoped and needed a second surgery to stop some internal bleeding and infection.   So what should have been a 6-week recovery turned into about 10 and I am not the most understanding of patients.
  • Kevin’s grandpa turned 90 and is one seriously COOL guy.  He is a WWII veteran, full of wit, sass and can play pinochle until the cows come home.
  • Baseball started and we’re in full swing (no pun intended) with three boys playing little-league, one playing travel ball and three boys still trying to make it to the pool at least twice a week.) My car is in constant motion from 2:20 until about 8:00 at night.

I think this pretty much catches everyone up.  We’re a pretty exciting bunch, truly. And maybe, just maybe I’ll dust off the ol’ keyboard and keep up with the daily happenings of my oh-so-amazing family. Until then….Have a beautiful Wednesday!
