Cooper went to his first year of church camp on Monday. He is officially old enough to sleep away from his Mama for a whole week. I am so thankful that he has an adventurers spirit and that we were able to send him to a place where his relationship with Jesus can blossom.
Kevin is a drummer, and he volunteers his talents for the kids worship team at our church. The kids pastor asked Kev if he’d be willing to go to camp and drum, as well as help out on the work crew for the week. This camp is a great place for the two of them to build their relationship. Cooper by default of being the oldest, is lost in the shuffle sometimes. He is the kid who requires the least amount of maintenance. I know that sounds bad, but our littles require lots of face time. Cooper is content to play with friends, play the Wii or play ball in the back yard. He’s a great kid, and I am so thankful that Kevin gets a week of uninterrupted time with him.
However, because they’re up at camp together, I am home with three small humans………this week has been interesting. I have a new-found respect for women who are single parents, and women whose husbands travel a lot. This is WORK. I am even more thankful for a husband who engages as soon as he walks through the door from work. I didn’t realize how much I depend on him for help!
This morning we had ice cream for breakfast and are probably going to have cereal for dinner…just because it is easy. Luckily I have great friends that keep me sane and keep me from hanging my boys by their toes on the clothesline. My new blog is up and running and still has a few kinks to work out, but that is why I place my trust in my good buddy Traci, she’s a super smart cookie! (Thanks Traci, I love you lots.)
