Dedication, New Toy, and Super Bowl XLV

I just wanted to share the video from Potter J.’s dedication.  We had him dedicated on January 30th.  Exactly one year from the date that we buried our sweet Ireland.  To me having him dedicated on that day was just one more step in the healing process. A reminder to us that God does truly work for the good of those who love him, we may not always understand, but as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 3:
“1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.”

Potter J.’s  dedication was our time to dance after a season of mourning.  A beautiful reminder of God’s perfect plan for our lives, and the lives of my boys.  It’s not a long video ( I think a minute or so)  and make sure to turn off the playlist at the bottom. It warms my heart to know that Kevin and I are not alone in raising our boys. There is a big God who is helping us, and moving in where we are weak, and I am so often weak.

In other news, my husband bought me a present yesterday…………I am soooo excited, and I have yet to figure out how to turn it on, much less make it work for me, but I am a quick study, and hopefully soon I will be a picture taking fool.

Isn’t she pretty. I think she needs a name!  I made Kevin go into the store to buy her, I stayed in the car and fed the baby.  Something about writing a check for a rather large amount of money made me want to throw up a little.  BUT, I am so excited that we can actually afford to spend some money on a camera.  (Insert shameless plug)
Kevin and I were invited by some friends (the same friend that baked Ireland’s cake.) to a Financial Peace class back in October 2010.  I hesitated, but Kevin was gung-ho so we went.  I wish that someone would have told us about this as a newly married couple.  It would have changed so many of our spending habits, and I can happily say that if we continue following Dave Ramsey’s plan we will have all of our debt paid off by the end of 2012….this includes our rather large chunk of student loans. Yay us, and yay for Kevin, who wouldn’t give up on his heel dragging wife, you’ve made a believer out of me!
So if you feel so inclined, leave me a comment on what my new toy’s name should be…because every pretty girl needs a fabulous name.  🙂
I am off to a Super Bowl Party to stuff my face…..For the record, I don’t know much about football, I just yell when everyone else does!

PS.  The Super Bowl is over, and Green Bay won ( I am sure my dad is jumping up and down on his chair) but for whatever reason this post didn’t publish. So I am going to try again, and then go take some Tums, crawl in my bed and pray for Potter to sleep all night!
