If I could……

Today’s prompt,

“If I could, I would.”

10:51pm  GO!!!
If I could, I would go back to when my sweet Cooper was born, I would tell my 19-year old self to take the time to relax. to trust my instinct. to just spend time falling in love with my son, rather than worrying if he was hitting all the milestones on time.  I would tell my younger self, to take more pictures, because your babies grow too fast.  I would tell me, that scrapes and bruises are a part of life….they don’t always need ER visits.  I would tell myself that no matter what, you have no guarantees in life, stop and cherish the moments, because they can be over in a blink.
If I could, I would go back, and I would stop, I would breathe, I would listen, I would engage, I would be intentional, I would relax, I would ask for help, I would spend more time just snuggling, reading books and blowing bubbles.  I would stop and pick a dandelion, and blow the fuzz…just to watch his blue eyes grow wide in delight.
I would love to go back to the day where I could pick him up and rock-a-bye him to sleep with his warm little hand around my neck.  I would not be in such a hurry to see him walk and talk.  I would take the time to engage his curiosity, I would answer all the whys, without being impatient.
8-years of being a Mommy, and it has gone by in a blink.  If I could go back I would tell that sweet, blond haired, blue-eyed boy, that he’s had my heart from the first second I laid my eyes on him.

Stop!!! 10:56
