Today’s prompt:

IN REAL LIFE

In real life, the laundry piles up, dirty dishes fill the sink and the garbage sometimes falls on the floor.

In real life my tub has a ring around it, and the bathroom sink has toothpaste stuck to it.  In real life, the beds aren’t made and the floors are sticky.

In real life, my kids fight and sass and punch each other in the stomach’s.  In real life, Kevin and I argue say things we don’t mean and go to bed angry.

In real life the grass needs mowed and my garden is wilted from lack of water.

In real life toys cover the floor, and milk spills on the table.

In real life backpacks are forgotten, homework is late and appointments are re-scheduled.

In real life my kids are fed, they’re loved and cherished.

In real life my husband works hard to provide and leads our family with a servant’s heart.

In real life my sticky-fingered kids wrap their arms around my neck in a bear-hug that almost hurts.

In real life my dinner table is full of  good food, spilled milk and tall tales.

In real life, my kitchen smells like chocolate chips , my boys’ lick the cookie dough off the beaters and the best conversations are around the mixing bowl.

In real life my bedroom is a safe-haven.  A place for stories, popcorn, fuzzy blankets, movie nights and sleep-overs.

In real life my house is full of laughter, tears,  Lego towers and impromptu baseball games in the back yard.

In real life, the arguments create growth, they open dialogue for feelings, dreams and frustrations.

In real life, we live, we love and we enjoy.

In real life.

In real life.

In real life.
