I apologize for my bad blogging as of late, some things have been going on at the Hanson house that have needed my attention more than a blog. But back on track. First of all I’d like to ask for prayers from you for the bean in my belly. It is definitely making it’s presence known, and I have become a close friend with our local CVS pharmacist and the Infusion Center at our local Clinic. I also have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow, so I am praying that everything looks ok and that the bean is doing back flips. Thanks for the prayers, and I am so thankful that this bean is thriving (even if its mama is green.)
We have spent the last few weeks catching up on things around the house, painting, organizing and just mucking out the much accumulated junk that piles up when you’re least expecting it. We bought a new car, my husbands old reliable (paid off) Buick took it’s last breath, and then caught fire (smoke, flames, the whole nine yards)………..so we were down to one vehicle, which for us is totally unrealistic. Both Kevin and I work, I do a carpool, my boys have activities and sports, and still take the all important afternoon nap, which I am not willing to sacrifice in order to pick up Kevin from work (sorry honey, you’d have to walk.) So we were on the hunt. Luckily we found a newer van with a good price and a DVD player to boot….so we took the plunge and bought a new-to-us car. I think the technical term is “pre-owned”
School is ending this week, and I am so ready, I am not a good school-year mom. I like to be able to move slowly in the morning, not rush and not have to bark orders at a 7-year old who moves like a slug in a blizzard. God bless that child, because he sometimes barely makes it out of this house with his life. I hate being late, and so I am a little over-enthusiastic about our morning routine. Plus organization is not my strength (my dad so helpfully pointed out the other day that, I need to get my poop in a group, and not be so scattered.) Thanks dad I’ll remember that!
I truly envy the mom’s that set the cereal out the night before, the ones who have the clothes laid out and the toothbrushes pre-pasted, oh and not to mention the lunches all in the sacks and ready to go…………..I get to around 8pm and all I want to do is curl up on the couch, watch Alton Brown and go to sleep. Organization be darned.
So that is my goal for the next school year, organization. Pre-planning, pre-pasted toothbrushes, and pre-packed lunches. However, I am going to enjoy my summer vacation with my soon to be 2nd grader, and I am going to relax and not worry about being organized until September 1st.
I hope you all had a restful Memorial Day weekend, ours was low-key we took the boys to Red Lodge (the nearest ski mountain and old coal mining town. We made a pit stop at our favorite restaurant, the service always stinks, but the food is pretty darn good, and then hit the Nature Reserve. We also took little miss Ireland some posey’s and some love from her adoring big brothers. They all told her they loved her, and hoped that she was having fun playing with the other kids in heaven. All in all it was a pretty great weekend.
Have a wonderful week, and I will try to be a better blogger.
