Really God?

And regarding the question, friends, that has come up about what happens to those already dead and buried, we don’t want you in the dark any longer. First off, you must not carry on over them like people who have nothing to look forward to, as if the grave were the last word. Since Jesus died and broke loose from the grave, God will most certainly bring back to life those who died in Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:12-14 (The Message)

Everything works for the good, right?  I don’t know today.  What good comes from a mom having to lose yet another baby?  Two son’s in 7 months.  I just don’t understand.  So many times today, I’ve just looked  up and asked Why?  What purpose is his heartache serving?

It is so discouraging to pray for specific things, for protection, for healing, for a baby who thrives…….and watch those prayers go unanswered.  Or at least answered in a way that isn’t what I hoped for.

What good comes from empty arms?  I am still not sure.   But I know that my sweet friend rests in the hope of eternity with her precious son’s.  Everyday that passes here, is one day closer to forever.

Please friends be lifting up my sweet friend in prayer, as she heals from surgery and from the loss of her precious baby.

  1. I’m so sorry, Jess, for your friend’s loss. I can’t imagine and understand how she is feeling. I know God hears every single one of our prayers and how he answers them is the sovereignity of God that we won’t understand this side of eternity. I know you are incredibly busy, but if you ever have a spare 30 minutes of time, google Rancho Vista Church, Chula Vista and listen to Faith Part Four. She preaches on “When God says no”. It really gave me a new insight on faith.

Just keep praying and keep trusting. God is in control.
